IS IT COMPULSORY TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY?

• YES, if you are attending community classes (dancing membership).
• YES, if you are a teacher running a community class (dancing membership).
• NO, if you are not attending classes, however, you can become a social member.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BECOME A MEMBER?

• $10 per year for dancing members and social members.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY?

• As of the 1st July 2011, the entry fee for an adult to attend our quarterly haflas will increase to $10 - dancing members and social members will pay a discounted entry fee of $5.
• If you are attending a community class, membership ensures that you are covered under the community's insurance policy.
• All members will be kept informed of community events (eg ladies nights, quiz nights and workshops by visiting and local teachers) and other events such as the WA Middle Eastern Dance Festival (WAMED) and other dance community/schools haflas.
• All members have the right to attend and vote at the community's Annual General Meetings.
• Dancing and social members are able to borrow cd's, dvd's and books from the community library.

HOW ARE MEMBERSHIP FEES SPENT?

• Membership fees assist in covering the community's running costs like rent, insurance premiums and the purchase of consumables. The community is a not for profit organisation so any funds 'earned' by the community are ploughed straight back into the community to benefit our members.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

• By printing and completing our Membership Form and paying your fee when you attend your first community class for the year (dancing membership) or at one of our haflas (social membership). OR
• Print and complete our Membership Form and mail it with your cheque or pay by direct deposit into the community's bank account (details below).
