LOCATION

The FREE SPIRIT DANCE COMMUNITY INC. is based at South Fremantle High School, Pass Crescent, Beaconsfield, Western Australia.

The studios are located at the rear of the school.

From Lefroy Road turn onto Porter St, then right into Pass Cres. Don't follow the road around the corner, instead go down the driveway and turn right into the carpark.

DANCE AREAS

Classes are held in two separate areas:

• The Betsy Watkins Memorial Studio - this studio is available for our exclusive use 6 days per week. It is a light and spacious room with full height mirrors on one wall and a laminate dance floor. There is a noticeboard, locked storage room for teachers to keep their equipment, fans and heaters.
  
  The studio is avilable for room hire at $20 per hour.
  
  This studio is named in memory of our darling Betsy Watkins - a much loved member of Free Spirit Gypsy Tribal and Tribalive! - who passed away in March 2009. Betsy once joked that if we ever held a "Tribal Fest in the West", it should be held in the "Betsy Watkins Memorial Hall". So we have named our special Studio dance space in loving memory of our dear "Miss Betsy".
  
  Betsy was also a talented artist - the drawing of the tribal dancer featured on this website is one of Betsy's creations, and the Studio itself is decorated with several of her artworks.
  
  
• The Hall - the hall is a HUGE space - it is the current school gymnasium/hall. It is full of light and air has an enormous wall full of mirrors, wooden flooring, staging, tables, chairs, fans, toilets, changerooms and a storage area.
  
  Our Winter and Spring Haflas and other events are held in this Hall, and it is more than spacious for all of your needs.
  
  We do not have exclusive use of this space and it is shared with other community groups.
  
  
• The Sunken Garden
  
  Classes are not held in the Sunken Garden but it is a fabulous performance space. Surrounded on all sides by school buildings, the large grassed quadrangle is sheltered by jacaranda trees. A covered portico runs round all sides of the areas, providing ample space for the bazaar and performance areas.
